“God bestows a special blessing on the counsel we take in matters pertaining to his service.”
When I need help, Lord, don’t let my pride stand in the way of freely seeking the counsel I need. - St. Vincent de Paul
Please don’t hesitate to contact the office with any questions or concerns you have. Your call will be directed to the right person who can help.
LCUSA: I want to thank all of you who attended mass and the luncheon when our guests from National and International Ladies of Charity were here. I think they were so happy to hear all the great work we do in Pittsburgh to keep our membership the highest in the country. Thanks to Ann Hayes and Janet Aland for being our tour guides when we showed them around the city, a ride on the Duquesne Incline and ended up on Mt. Washington with our beautiful view. You know that view coming out of the tunnel blew their minds. Thanks again to Mary McIntyre and her ladies for doing an outstanding job with setting up and serving lunch. I heard great reviews on the cookie table too. To Judy Weismann who got Dave Christy to prepare the food and Barb Wolkiewicz for arranging the wonderful testimonial from Ros. Dianne Romo took on the job of preparing all things Pittsburgh gifts for the ladies. (Even though one is a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan.)
Membership Information: Please start collecting dues from your members. They are due by December 1, 2025, and remain at $20.00 for active members and $4.00 for honorary members. Please send one check and your roster to the office. Associate members receive a separate letter and they pay dues of $15.00 directly to the office.
Officers meeting: or sometimes called the Bi-Annual meeting will be held on Saturday, October 18, at Archangel Gabriel Parish, the St. Malachy Church on Forest Grove Road. You should have gotten a save the date notice and Ann Hayes will take your reservations. There will be breakout groups for Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, and Vincentian Spiritual Moderators. White socks for men and women will be collected at the meeting. Sr. Grace Hartzog, Sister of Charity, will speak to us on leadership.
RSVP: Ann Hayes ahhayesae@comcast.net by October 10th.
Are you feeling frustrated? Do you feel like giving up, that you are lacking endurance? I want to let you know that you are not alone. You see, God doesn’t allow us to go through situations that we cannot handle. So even when it seems like all roads are blocked, even when we feel that we are at a tail’s end, God is aware. He has the perfect plan!

Prayer to the Vincentian Family
Lord Jesus, you who willed to become poor, gives us eyes and a heart directed to the poor. Help us to recognize you in them in their thirst, their hunger, their loneliness, their misfortune. Enkindle within our Vincentian Family unity, simplicity, humility, and the fire of love that burned in St. Vincent DePaul. Strengthen us so that faithful to the practice of these virtues, we may contemplate you and serve you in the person of the poor and may one day be united with you and them in your kingdom. Amen.
