President's Letter, May 2026

Heavenly Father, I am grateful for this new day.  Nothing can bring back yesterday and tomorrow isn’t here yet. In spite of regret for my past failures, I will not let this keep me from making a new start.  Give me the courage I need to do this.

Let’s remember THE SEVEN LAST WORDS OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS

“Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” ....“Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”....“Woman, behold your son**Behold your mother.”....“I thirst.”....”It is finished.”....”Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

And then: “He is not here; he has risen!” Alleluia!          Luke 24:5-6

Investiture:

Congratulations to a little under 100 women who came to St. Paul Cathedral on April 26^th and were invested by Bishop Mark Eckman. It was such a beautiful day and the smiles on the faces on all of you who received your cross said it all. Standing there handing the crosses to the Bishop, I could see smiles, tears, and heartfelt gratitude as you became Ladies of Charity. The Diocese of Pittsburgh welcomes you and is happy to have you be a part of this wonderful organization.

As you know, we cannot have a proxy stand in if you are unable to attend, but please let us know if you can attend next year's investiture. We do not have a date yet, but as soon as we do, we will share it with everyone.

Thank you to Mary McIntyre and Ann Hayes, who organized the investiture and all the board members who did a great job getting everyone registered and seated before mass. Thank you to the St. Paul Cathedral Ladies of Charity, who also stepped up and helped on Sunday.

May 9th, Officer's Meeting:

Officers meeting, St. Mark the Evangelist, St. Kilian Church at 9:00am registration, 9:30am meeting begins. Our day will begin with coffee and light refreshments. Followed by several presentations on subjects we hope you will find interesting. Then we will break out into each officer group including Vincentian Spiritual Moderator. Below is the updated distribution information for the quarterly submission of Treasurer Reports and Bank Statements. The deadline for reporting is March 15 for the months of December, January and February. Updated sales tax exemption forms are available by contacting Judy Weismann at weismann2@comcast.net. Also, please consider joining the 501C3 team by inputting data into QuickBooks. Contact Judy if you would like to begin a training session.
